The Parent or Guardian is considered responsible for any materials checked out by that child. A card will be given the patron, the patron's information placed in the computer and the information saved for checkout.
Confidentiality Policy:

Borrowing Privileges: Four items may be checked out per library card or at the discretion of the librarian. Most books, magazines, music CDs, and audios can be checked out for 14 days and can be renewed for another 2 week period.
Returning Materials: Materials should be returned to the front desk. If the library is closed, please deposit items in either the book drop located on the north brick wall by the front door or the curbside drop located outside the library on Wool Street. There is also a return box located inside the AHSTW elementary school.
Holds: Patrons may have an item put on hold if the item is checked out. If more than one person is requesting the item, the reserve list will call each person in the order requested.
Interlibrary Loan: A patron requesting an item the library does not own, can be ordered through Interlibrary Loan. If the material has been published more than 6 months, the Avoca library can request the material from another library. There will be a charge of $3.00 per item to defray the cost of postage.
Overdue, Lost, Damaged Materials: Patrons who have overdue library materials will be emailed or called.
Charges for lost or damaged items will vary with the extent of the damage and could range from $1.00 to replacement cost.
